June 2014

I’m finally cleaning up my blog site after a long, emotionally draining summer. Looking back on the month of June, I did manage to get in some solid reading and studying of my craft, though the writing took a backseat. Here’s a recap of what I managed to do:

– WIP stands at 18,358 words

– Introduction to Screenwriting for Short Films from James Franco on http://www.skillshare.com. (I was unable to see this through after my mom got sick.)

June reading list:
– The Spy Who Came in From the Cold by John Le Carre (Unfortunately, I only got about 50 pages in. I plan to start rereading it in October.)
– The Bone Collector by Jeffrey Deaver
– Private Berlin by James Patterson and Mark Sullivan
– Blessed Are The Dead by Kristi Belcamino
– “The Philosopher Duck by Kara Dalkey (Asimov’s Science Fiction, June 2014)
– “The Finges Clearing” by Sylvain Jouty (Asimov’s SF, June 2014)
– “Sidewalk at 12:00 P.M.” by Nancy Kress (Asimov’s SF, June 2014)

– The Writer’s Digest Guide to Character Traits
